Frequently Asked Questions

What is the benefit for me joining Concepts in Focus' database panel?

Concepts in Focus is the preferred product testing company for many large consumer product goods manufacturers. We work with the company names and brands that you are familiar with.

By joining our database you’ll have an opportunity to share your opinions about the products and services these companies provide as well as being the first to test new products that have not yet reached stores.

Each time you participate in one of our studies you are given a cash or gift card incentive for your time, not points!

Respondents typically report that participating in Concepts in Focus studies is a fun and easy way to make extra money.

As an example, when we have studies on tasty snacks, we often hear comments like, “I can’t believe I’m getting paid to eat chocolate!”

Is there any cost to me to join?

Absolutely NOT. Participation in Concepts in Focus’ research studies is absolutely FREE!

We pay you!! You simply need to join our database.

Once we have your email address and other pertinent information (i.e. birthdate) we will send surveys or call you to ask more detailed questions. If you fit the proper criteria you will receive an email or text inviting you to participate in our research studies

If I join your database, what types of studies will I participate in?

Concepts in Focus conducts several different types of studies including focus groups, taste tests, home use tests, and one–on–one interviews. We also conduct online surveys, bulletin boards and blogging communities.

Recent studies our respondents have participated in include Taste Tests for candy, soup, protein shakes, chocolate syrup, coffee and more!

Home Use Testers have tried out personal care products of various types as well as food products.

Focus groups ask respondents to give their opinion on a wide range of topics including food and other consumer products, packaging and politics!

Can my children participate in studies too?

YES, we highly suggest that you sign them up when you register. Concepts in Focus conducts research with children between the ages of 6-18 years old. We would contact you, the parent, to see if it is something that you would like your child to have an opportunity to do. We never attempt to contact children without parental consent.

The best way for your children to participate is to register them along with yourself in our database.

Concepts in Focus complies with the standards for conducting research with children as it is outlined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. In addition, all of our staff has undergone security background checks as well.

Can anyone join?

Yes, anyone can join our database. We welcome anyone, anywhere across the nation.

Although you may be local to the Orange Park area (Concepts in Focus Facility) we conduct testing all across the Unites States. You can live anywhere and still participate in our studies.

Is my personal information safe with Concepts in Focus?

Absolutely! Concepts in Focus will NOT divulge your personal information (including your email!) to any third party or client.

Your information is used to contact you to see if you qualify for the studies based on our client’s specifications.

What type of compensation will I receive when I do studies?

An incentive is given in a monetary format. Compensation rates are based on the type of study you participate in and the amount of time you are required to commit to.

Often compensation is in the form of cash, visa gift cards etc… You will know the amount of time required and the amount and form of compensation when you take the qualifying survey for the study you are interested in.

Why haven’t I been contacted for a study yet?

Please note once you register, we try to find the study that is a fit with your personal interests and that may take some time. You could always call us to check that your information is accurate and up-to-date. We can be reached by phone at (904) 264 5578.

Must I participate in every study that I receive an invitation for?

NO- you have the right to decide which surveys you participate in. Not every topic will be appealing to every person. Concepts in Focus does many studies in a given year so there will be many opportunities for you to complete a study for us.

Why do I sometimes get told I'm on the wait list or that I don't qualify?

Each study has different requirements.

For example; we may have needed 40 women when we sent the email out and by the time you clicked on the link in your email 40 women already qualified. If your information in the database had your gender as female the study’s link will then automatically be removed from your portal.

Conversely, you may know a male who still has the link in their portal which would mean we still need men.
